Meet Our Team of Experts at Pioneer Floor

Glenn grew up working at Pioneer Floor Coverings and has worked here for nearly 26 years. He has helped develop it into the company it is today! He grew up in Cedar City and most locals know him and his family well. He loves fishing, hunting, traveling and coaching his son's baseball team.

Preston grew up working for Pioneer Floor Coverings at the young age of 14. After college, he gained leadership skills managing a successful landscape company but now loves being back home in Southern Utah. He enjoys the outdoors, volunteers for Search and Rescue, and especially loves spending time with his family.

Tyra grew up in Escalante, Utah though she has lived in Cedar City for the past 31 years. She loves cooking, baking, bowling, fishing and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. In August, she will be celebrating her 23rd year at Pioneer Floor Coverings. Tyra keeps Pioneer together and if we are lucky, she contributes some of her great cooking to the company.

Ashlyn is one of our best employees who came here from Norco, California. She loves playing with her dogs, traveling with her fiancé, and finding new projects. She is always up for a challenge and is constantly pushing herself to learn more. She brings problem solving and a smile to the front desk.

David is a native to Cedar City and graduated from Cedar High and SUU with an Accounting degree, Criminal Justice degree, and Masters in Education. He also speaks fluent Spanish. He served in the military for 11 years and lived in Texas and Key West for a time. He then worked on the police force before coming to Pioneer. David brings a lot to our company through his loyalty to his community and family. If he's not at work, you may find him tinkering around with his Ham radio, one of his favorite hobbies.

Jordyn was born in San Jose, CA but grew up in Grants Pass, OR. She met her husband in the third grade but they didn't start dating until after graduation. Now they have seven beautiful children. Jordyn enjoys hiking, boating, camping, kayaking, running and basically anything outdoors. She is happy to be in St George with the red rock and warm weather. Jordyn loves working at Pioneer because of the family atmosphere and seeing the creative combinations each customer puts together!

Caytee grew up in Parowan, Utah and loves Southern Utah. She and her husband opened the Washington location four years ago, but before that time, she worked as a NICU nurse. She loves hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She also loves her alma mater SUU, where she currently serves as the Alumni President.

Rob Wankier bought Pioneer Floor Coverings in 1998 and brought his family to live in Southern Utah where he has resided since. He brought his skills in accounting and quick learning in flooring to make Pioneer Floor Coverings grow into the incredible company that it is today. He loves being with his family, enjoying the outdoors, and serving in his church calling in the St George Mission. We are grateful to Rob for his endless dedication to make Pioneer the business that has helped so many of you in our community today.

Brant grew up in St. Geroge but moved to Cedar City for college where he met a local gal, making it easy to stay. He loves hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating and family. He enjoys seeing familiar faces around town and admits to being manly enough to cry in a good movie. He love Pioneer because of their great systems, process and attention to quality. He feels like it allows him to make customer's lives easier to make the house they dreamed of.

McRae brings a lively attitude and easy conversation to those making selections in floor coverings. He was born in Morgan, Utah, though he has grown up and lived most of his life in Cedar City. He enjoys most anything outdoors including hunting, fishing, and hiking and loves to build items in his garage.

Rachel grew up in Cedar City graduating from Cedar High School where she met her husband, David. They have been married for 35 years. Before working for Pioneer, she ​owned a business sewing and installing interior draperies, bedding, wallpaper, and pillows. She is known for her keen eye for design. They have three girls whom they adore. She loves anything active like yoga, baking, gardening, hiking, and especially spending time with family.

Kristy is the happiest face at Pioneer Floor Coverings! She is a native to St George, Utah. She loves working with customers and is talented at finding what each is looking for. She has a keen eye for colors, textures, quality and helps stay within budget. She loves hiking, jeeping, painting and being home with her family and her cat.

Brian grew up in Aurora, Utah. In his early career, he installed flooring for Pioneer Floor Coverings (1994-2001) and developed a deep knowledge of the many technical aspects of flooring. He enjoys mountain biking, boating, traveling and anything out in the sun!

Zach grew up in Southern Oregon in a town called Grants Pass. He lived there from 1994-2023. He enjoys bike rides and walks with his wife, Jordyn. They have been married for 14 years and have seven children. They love living in Southern Utah and take advantage of all the hiking and outdoor opportunities here.

Robert grew up in Henderson, Nevada but is happy to reside in Southern Utah now. He loves hiking with his family and doing anything active. When he is not working, he loves to skateboard in his free time. We are glad he is at Pioneer because his attention to detail is phenomenal and he keeps everything in line in our warehouse.

Jason Stratton grew up in Corona, California but loves being in Southern Utah now. He loves anything related to cars and motorcycles. If you meet him, you'll have to ask him how he is related to a famous psychic!

Cory grew up in Auburn, Wyoming but loves living in Southern Utah. He has a sharp sense of detail which is key to success in the warehouse. He loves camping, golfing, watching movies and being outdoors camping, fishing and hiking. Not many know that he is part Columbian and speaks Spanish fluently!

Brayden grew up in Ivins, Utah and loves living in Southern Utah. He brings a happy face to work and muscle. He enjoys playing Magic the Gathering and video games from time to time. He also averages a 180 in bowling!

Jentry grew up in La Grande, Oregon but loves living in Southern Utah. He loves sports especially soccer and college football. He also enjoys cars and is a part of the car community. Interestingly enough, he can write with his left hand but not his right. Everyday activities like using utensils and throwing a football, he uses his right hand. But when it comes to soccer he is ambidextrous and can use either.

Jake Ballard grew up in the local area in St. George. He loves this area because of the opportunities outdoors including hiking. His favorite hike is in Zions at Angel's Landing. He also enjoys flaking arrowheads. We are so glad to have Jake a part of the Pioneer team.
